Low Carb Foods, Sugar Free Foods
Generally chicken is a home run in terms of sugar and carbs. From time to time you want something other than a plain chicken breast however. Ask any diabetic and they will tell you that once you start adding sauces and breading thicker than the armor on an M1 Abrams tank you really have added a load of carbs to a fairly healthy food. Tyson Tequila Lime Flavored Wings to the rescue! These wings taste fantastic and only have two grams of carbohydrate! They have a wonderful citrus flavor that really makes them remarkable in a field of all too familiar wing products.
We were thoroughly impressed with the freezer friendly packaging. An inner plastic pouch contains the wings, and the outer bag sports one of those Ziploc-type closures. The outside of the bag contains instructions for heating the wings in the oven, in the microwave, and on the grill. Usually when The Glucoholic hears someone talking about heating chicken in the microwave he starts looking for a hill to run for, but these wings are perfect after just a few minutes in the microwave. Juicy and flavorful, they don’t seem to suffer the “rubberization” that some other products do.

Low Carb Foods, Sugar Free Foods
If you’re a breakfast fan like The Glucoholic then we have a product for you. Cary’s Sugar Free Syrup is a great tasting addition to the breakfast table. Diabetics have known for years that Cary’s can add some of that old-fashioned flavor to your breakfast that would be missing without an alternative to other syrups. Try it on wheat toast or low carb pancakes; or pour some on regular pancakes to reduce carbs and calories. Cold or hot, Cary’s tastes great. Don’t forget to ask for it in your favorite restaurants as well!
Serving size is a quarter cup, and with that you will receive 30 calories, 115mg of sodium, about 1 gram of fiber, and 11 grams of sugar alcohol. Cary’s is sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame potassium. Cary’s has been a long time sponsor of the American Diabetes Association.

Low Carb Snacks
Let’s get the warnings out of the way first. These cookies are not a low calorie food source. Excess consumption may have a laxative effect. Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times … Seriously, you might be saying “Hey The Glucoholic, how do you have time to do all these reviews when you spend so much time in the restroom?” Not to worry, The Glucoholic is pretty sure at this point that if you stick to the posted serving sizes you should be just fine.
Opening the pack of two (the suggested serving size) there is the distinct aroma of peanut butter. The pleasure of that is quickly checked as you realize that the texture of the cookie is more like a ginger snap baked with oatmeal than the soft, chewy peanut butter cookie your mom used to make. Applying enough bite force to break off a piece does provide you with a good workout, followed by the reward of tasting significant peanut butter flavor. The cookie has adequate sweetness, and is surprisingly filling.

Low Carb Drinks, Sugar Free Drinks
Whew! That title almost did The Glucoholic in. Folks I’m really excited about this review. Not only does it kick off our “Battle Of” series, but it praises three pretty special little drinks. To anthropologists Super Target comes right after fire and the wheel. Super Target’s Market Pantry brand is one of the best store brands out there today, and thankfully their buyers chose to add water beverages to that lineup. Ironically, don’t bother looking at the Target website if you want to find out about any of the Market Pantry products. If anyone from Target happens to be a reader, pass the word that lots of consumers like to preshop before hitting the stores.
The three drinks we’ll be reviewing are cherry limeade, kiwi strawberry, and lemonade. Before we go any further let The Glucoholic say that all three were worthy of the title, and that it was a pleasure to review them. All three are almost identical nutritionally so a contest on taste alone is certainly warranted. Each bottle comes with almost seventeen fluid ounces of water beverage, and there are four bottles to a pack. Each bottle contains 70mg of sodium and practically nothing else. The kiwi strawberry flavor contains malic acid and the other two contain citric acid. All three are flavored with sucralose and acesulfame potassium.
