Russell Stover Sugar Free Nougie Nutty Chew

Russell Stover Sugar Free Nougie Nutty ChewWe know what you’re thinking. Nougie Nutty Chew? Is that made up? It sounds made up. It’s not. Russell Stover Sugar Free Nougie Nutty Chew is a product, and a good one at that. When we came across this jewel we knew we had to review it just for the opportunity to say Nougie Nutty Chew a couple of times. We had no idea what kind of pleasant suprise we were in for. We’ve come to expect good things from the Russell Stover brand, and have always been impressed by the wide variety of sugar free candies they provide. The Nougie Nutty Chew is simply delicious. We would shout it from the mountain tops if our teeth weren’t stuck together with candy.

The packaging tells you all you need to know – it’s got peanuts, caramel, nougat, and chocolate. How could it possibly be anything but spectacular with nougat on board? Seriously, the first thing you notice is that it’s bigger than your average sugar free candy. Unless you’ve got mad candy eating skills, it will probably take you two bites to fully consume this beauty. And what pleasurable consumption it is. The best way to describe the taste would be “a mix of Snickers, Baby Ruth, and 3 Musketeers with more dark chocolate than milk chocolate.” It’s hefty and very satisfying. In the past week we’ve been through two bags. We might need an intervention before this is over.

A serving of these beauties is three bars, but with lots of sugar alcohol in the mix we’d recommend starting slowly. These things are filling enough that you don’t need to hoover the whole bag to feel satisfied. Each serving contains 9 grams of fat, 65mg of sodium, 10 grams of fiber, 2 grams of protein, and about 27 grams of digestible carbohydrate. A serving also contains eight percent of the recommended daily intake of calcium. Russell Stover Sugar Free Nougie Nutty Chews are sweetened with Splenda.

  1. I wish grocery stores would carry more of the RS sugar free variety. The only ones they seem to carry are the variety packs.

  2. I agree. These are the best I’ve had. They just showed up at our grocery store and we only got them because we get tired of the variety packs. I think they taste the most like Baby Ruth candy bars, but that’s just me.
