Low Carb Foods

South Beach Diet Pepperoni PizzaAfter finding good products in South Beach Diet’s deli wraps and peanut butter cookies The Glucoholic was pleased to find South Beach Diet Pepperoni Pizza at his local grocer. In a crowded market of personal sized frozen pizzas, this pizza is a serious contender for best in show. Of course, it’s real benefit is competitive taste without supplying more carbohydrates than a person should eat in a week!

Regarding taste, this pizza is on par with most other frozen pizzas. The wheat crust is somewhat different, but rather tasty. The sauce, cheese, and pepperoni are comparable to the same ingredients in other frozen pizzas as well. If you like a crispier crust you can heat this pizza in the oven, but whether you prepare it in the oven or the microwave be careful with your first bite because the toppings will be plasma hot.

South Beach Diet Deli Ham & Turkey Wrap Sandwich KitAfter our experience with the chocolate peanut butter bars we were a little hesitant to jump back on the South Beach train. This one looked too good to pass up though, and boy are we glad we didn’t pass it up. The South Beach Diet group at Kraft Foods has really outdone themselves on this one. Everything you need for an awesome meal is in this one package!

The Deli Ham & Turkey version of the wrap sandwich kit contains two wheat tortillas, Oscar Mayer ham and turkey, Kraft low fat cheddar cheese, enough Grey Poupon mustard for two wraps, and a cup of Jell-O Sugar Free Cherry Gelatin. You might notice that most of the components of this meal kit are Kraft products, and we think they’ve done a fantastic job of collecting them into one really simple, tasty solution.

Low Carb Foods, Sugar Free Foods

Hershey’s Sugar Free SyrupWho doesn’t like an occasional bowl of ice cream? A real snacking classic can be carried to new heights by some tasty chocolate syrup. Unfortunately, finding either that are diabetic or low carb friendly can be a challenge. If you’ve managed to find some ice cream you can live with, and you prefer a more dark chocolate taste, then Hershey’s Sugar Free Syrup is worth a try. If you’re craving the sweet, creamy texture and taste of hot fudge this might not be the topping for your ice cream. Most everyone will like it for mixing with milk for tasty chocolate milk.

Each serving is only two tablespoons, which is not a lot if you really like to cover your ice cream. With four out of five carbohydrates coming from sugar alcohol you better go easy on it. There’s a warning on the label. The good news is that there’s zero of everything else except 15 calories, 50mg of sodium, and a trace amount of a few vitamins and minerals. Hershey’s Sugar Free Syrup is sweetened with acesulfame potassium and sucralose.
