Low Carb Foods, Sugar Free Foods
“Taste the Fiesta!” That’s what the man on the box says, and that’s just what you get to do when you enjoy these low carb treats. You’re probably thinking “Hey The Glucoholic, how can tacos be good for you?” Well, they’re not salmon and broccoli, but they’re not a Snickers bar either. Let’s take a closer look.
José Olé Beef & Cheese Mini Tacos are frozen taco snacks. We’re always skeptical of frozen foods so we were delighted to find that these little snacks taste great, and even pack a spicy little punch. They’re great for snacking or entertaining.

Low Carb Foods, Sugar Free Foods
After our experience with the chocolate peanut butter bars we were a little hesitant to jump back on the South Beach train. This one looked too good to pass up though, and boy are we glad we didn’t pass it up. The South Beach Diet group at Kraft Foods has really outdone themselves on this one. Everything you need for an awesome meal is in this one package!
The Deli Ham & Turkey version of the wrap sandwich kit contains two wheat tortillas, Oscar Mayer ham and turkey, Kraft low fat cheddar cheese, enough Grey Poupon mustard for two wraps, and a cup of Jell-O Sugar Free Cherry Gelatin. You might notice that most of the components of this meal kit are Kraft products, and we think they’ve done a fantastic job of collecting them into one really simple, tasty solution.

Low Carb Foods, Sugar Free Foods
Who doesn’t like an occasional bowl of ice cream? A real snacking classic can be carried to new heights by some tasty chocolate syrup. Unfortunately, finding either that are diabetic or low carb friendly can be a challenge. If you’ve managed to find some ice cream you can live with, and you prefer a more dark chocolate taste, then Hershey’s Sugar Free Syrup is worth a try. If you’re craving the sweet, creamy texture and taste of hot fudge this might not be the topping for your ice cream. Most everyone will like it for mixing with milk for tasty chocolate milk.
Each serving is only two tablespoons, which is not a lot if you really like to cover your ice cream. With four out of five carbohydrates coming from sugar alcohol you better go easy on it. There’s a warning on the label. The good news is that there’s zero of everything else except 15 calories, 50mg of sodium, and a trace amount of a few vitamins and minerals. Hershey’s Sugar Free Syrup is sweetened with acesulfame potassium and sucralose.

Low Carb Foods, Sugar Free Foods
Somebody get The Glucoholic some sugar free peanut butter and low carb bread ’cause we’re havin’ us some PB&J tonight! Now that Smuckers has become wise to the benefits of sweetening with Splenda we have a real alternative to all those sweet and tasty jellies and jams we’ve been missing. The blackberry flavor is heavenly and the texture is divine. Put it in the refrigerator before use and let a cool, soothing serving ease the searing heat of summer.
Each serving is one tablespoon and only contains 10 calories. The rest of the short list of ingredients is available from the Smuckers website. Snoop around while you are there and you will find some other great low carb and sugar free gems!

Low Carb Foods, Sugar Free Foods
Generally chicken is a home run in terms of sugar and carbs. From time to time you want something other than a plain chicken breast however. Ask any diabetic and they will tell you that once you start adding sauces and breading thicker than the armor on an M1 Abrams tank you really have added a load of carbs to a fairly healthy food. Tyson Tequila Lime Flavored Wings to the rescue! These wings taste fantastic and only have two grams of carbohydrate! They have a wonderful citrus flavor that really makes them remarkable in a field of all too familiar wing products.
We were thoroughly impressed with the freezer friendly packaging. An inner plastic pouch contains the wings, and the outer bag sports one of those Ziploc-type closures. The outside of the bag contains instructions for heating the wings in the oven, in the microwave, and on the grill. Usually when The Glucoholic hears someone talking about heating chicken in the microwave he starts looking for a hill to run for, but these wings are perfect after just a few minutes in the microwave. Juicy and flavorful, they don’t seem to suffer the “rubberization” that some other products do.
