Low Carb Foods, Sugar Free Foods

Tyson Tequila Lime Flavored WingsGenerally chicken is a home run in terms of sugar and carbs. From time to time you want something other than a plain chicken breast however. Ask any diabetic and they will tell you that once you start adding sauces and breading thicker than the armor on an M1 Abrams tank you really have added a load of carbs to a fairly healthy food. Tyson Tequila Lime Flavored Wings to the rescue! These wings taste fantastic and only have two grams of carbohydrate! They have a wonderful citrus flavor that really makes them remarkable in a field of all too familiar wing products.

We were thoroughly impressed with the freezer friendly packaging. An inner plastic pouch contains the wings, and the outer bag sports one of those Ziploc-type closures. The outside of the bag contains instructions for heating the wings in the oven, in the microwave, and on the grill. Usually when The Glucoholic hears someone talking about heating chicken in the microwave he starts looking for a hill to run for, but these wings are perfect after just a few minutes in the microwave. Juicy and flavorful, they don’t seem to suffer the “rubberization” that some other products do.

Our only complaint is that these wings are relatively high in fat, cholesterol, and sodium. They are sugar free and do contain lots of protein. Full nutritional information is available at Tyson’s website.
